How to fix a hole in your fave jeans

A little bit of skill, a little bit of time and your fave pair of jeans keep on going. My friend Dave asked me to mend his favorite pair of jeans when the hole he had kept expanding. To start we talked about options like a patch on outside but unless you are into patches that’s a no go. So best way to proceed was to reinforce the hole from inside. Basically sewing a patch from the inside keeping the hole visible, but through it you could see the fabric. This method works well for a while, especially if hole is reinforced past tear margins.

What to know how? See this video.

Closeup of how material looks from inside once sewn and barely shows through the rip. Place of this hole is right below the butt so unless he bends over no one will notice the fabric.
