Good Skin Habits When Traveling
When I travel I naturally put my skin through a lot of changes that I did not even think about. I noticed after some trips where I only brought the bare essentials how my skin needed to face needed a couple days of love and sparkle infusion after coming home.
Changing climates alone has a big impact on what your skin needs. From warm to cold, dry to humid and all the stuff in between...planes, cars, hotel rooms, A/C, heaters and different diet to name a few.
How I reduce skin stress as I call it is by thinking through where I am headed and what my face is currently going through. For example if summer and I am leaving CA for GA I can take some good exfoliants, detoxifiers and in general products that support skin turnover. GA has a more humid summer climate vs. dry CA so I can take advantage of that. If I travel there in winter I need moisture so my treatments change.
Hotel home office. I make myself at home on the bed or in the lobby as long as I am near an outlet all is good. Ready to mask it up in both cases and wine from lobby bar is always available to go.
Airplane travel leaves my skin feeling dirty and that makes sense with air re-circulation on planes so I pack face wash and moisturizing mask.
Under eye and lip masks to help moisturize and reduce under eye puffiness from travel and lack of sleep.
Stress can happen year around and so can sleepless nights. On me signs of stress and lack of sleep show up as under eye puffiness. To combat that under eye masks work wonders for me. Masks that say they are calming and relaxing, usually sheet masks are packed with moisture and plump the skin to reduce signs of stress and fatigue.
Simple to implement just attack the issues you have in the moment and commit to keeping the routine. Pair it with TV, laptop and glass of wine and you are rolling like me.
Just because you are busy or on the go, there is no reason to take shortcuts on yourself. #beawesomeandsparkle
